Keeper Security announces integration with ServiceNow

New integration enables ServiceNow customers to use Keeper Secrets Manager for on-demand discovery, incident response and as a custom credential provider.

Keeper Security, a frontrunner in zero-trust and zero-knowledge cybersecurity software, has formally announced the integration of Keeper Secrets Manager (KSM) with ServiceNow.

This development provides enterprises with the tools to effectively manage and protect their secrets using a fully managed, cloud-based platform that is both cost-effective and easy to deploy.

KSM stands as Keeper’s solution for safeguarding infrastructure secrets such as API keys, database passwords, access keys and certificates. By eradicating secrets sprawl, KSM secures an organisation’s environment and eliminates the need to embed hard-coded credentials in source code, configuration files and CI/CD pipelines. ServiceNow delivers service management, workflow automation, and business-process automation to global enterprises, and the integration with KSM allows ServiceNow customers to streamline on-demand discovery, incident response and the use of custom credential providers.

“By integrating with Keeper, ServiceNow users now have the ability to dynamically retrieve credentials from the Keeper Vault without storing any credentials on the instance,” said Craig Lurey, CTO and Co-founder of Keeper Security. “This furthers our mission to provide cost-effective, efficient and robust cybersecurity solutions and empowers DevOps and DevSecOps teams with the critical tools they need to manage and protect their secrets.”

Erica Volini, Senior Vice President of global partnerships at ServiceNow, said: “Partnerships succeed best when we lean into our unique skills and expertise and have a clear view into the problem we’re trying to solve.

“Keeper Secrets Manager extends our reach well beyond where we can go alone and represents the legacy and goals of the Now Platform. I am thrilled to see the continued innovation we will achieve together to help organisations succeed in the era of digital business.”

The integration between the ServiceNow platform and the Keeper Vault is designed to enable ServiceNow Orchestration, ServiceNow Discovery and ServiceNow Service Mapping to seamlessly pull credentials from the user’s vault. Notably, no credentials are stored on the ServiceNow instance, mitigating the risk of integration and audit issues and reducing an organisation’s attack surface. The KSM integration is poised to prevent secrets sprawl within ServiceNow, protecting against severe security risks and compliance problems.

The enhancement of external credential storage for discovery and orchestration and the function as a Custom Credential Provider through this new integration affords customers unparalleled security, efficiency and ease of use.
