Novasep becomes an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)

Novasep, a leading supplier of services and technologies for the life sciences industry, today announces that its French sites, in Chasse-sur-Rhone and Mourenx have been granted the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status by French Custom Authorities. This certification completes the one already granted to German Leverkusen site.

The AEO certificate covers two key challenges for European businesses, such as Novasep, taking part in international supply chains. The certificate helps simplify customs-related operations regarding controls and documentation. The second aspect is the management of security and safety of the supply operations.

During the audit, Novasep could demonstrate its full compliance with customs legislation and taxation rules also encompassing financial solvency and traceability of its processes. Lastly, the security and safety measures on the sites were demonstrated to be fully addressing the AEO program’s stringent selection criteria.

The AEO program gets a Mutual Recognition in European Union and other countries such as China and US, which Novasep deals with on a daily basis.

“The team did a great job for getting the AEO certificate within 15 months only,” Jean Blehaut, President of Novasep’s Synthesis BU, said. “It has been key to coordinate the project and get the full support of our local teams. The certificate will give peace of mind to our customers as they are now assured their CDMO partner is fully compliant with the most stringent international supply chain standards”.

Novasep, a French company, with development and production facilities in Europe makes more than 90 percent of its turnover outside France. CDMO services require a very good agility and rigor in the management of international logistics especially as countries are getting more and more sensitive to the security and safety of the supply operations.
