Luminate Security, provider of a universal platform for secure access to corporate applications in hybrid cloud environments, has announced that its agentless Secure Access Cloud platform is fully integrated with Microsoft Azure, providing direct, secure access to applications and services deployed on Azure.
Luminate’s platform also integrates with Azure Active Directory for authentication and policy management throughout the lifetime of the user’s session.
As organisations are transferring their data centres to the cloud, their corporate IT security operations need to shift. Traditional access security tools were designed for solutions such as site-to-site and remote access VPNs, making cloud connections complex and insufficiently secure while breaking up the cloud-user experience.
Luminate CEO, Ofer Smadari, said: “Traditional security tools that were effective for on-premises data centres can take months to configure when the data centres are distributed and involve cloud hosting. Once in place, these tools may provide users with excessive access to the entire network and increase the network attack surface.
“Luminate provides fast and secure access to applications that are hosted on Microsoft Azure without backhauling traffic through the VPN or DMZ. Luminate’s platform takes only five minutes to configure and can be dynamically managed with ease.”
Based on Software Defined Perimeter (SDP) principles, Luminate enables organisations to roll out corporate services with the speed, security and agility that matches the dynamic nature of modern business and replaces network access with secure application access.
By leveraging its tight integration with Azure Active Directory as well as Azure IaaS and PaaS services, Luminate Secure Access Cloud allows organisations to provide secure access to any corporate IT resource in Azure.
With that, Luminate eliminates the complexities and the risks associated with direct network access to corporate data centres, or the Internet, while providing easy management that benefits from the existing investment in Azure Active Directory and Azure Active Directory Conditional Access policies.
Azure helps safeguard data and apps and enables customers to incorporate a Azure-based app into a hybrid cloud/on-prem secure networking strategy for a consistent hybrid cloud experience.
“We are pleased to see Luminate choose to launch its Secure Access Cloud on Microsoft Azure,” said Adwait Joshi, Director, Product Marketing, Azure Security at Microsoft Corp. “By providing secure, quick-to-deploy, easy-to-manage access of authorised users to their applications, Luminate helps simplify the enterprise journey to Azure for both public and hybrid cloud environments.”
