du’s Osman Sultan and Faisal Al Bannai, DarkMatter discuss regional cybersecurity

During Gitex 2017, Osman Sultan, CEO of du and Faisal Al Bannai, Founder and CEO of DarkMatter, addressed a round table about the state of cyber security in the region and the initiatives taken by du and DarkMatter to broad base the awareness of cybersecurity in the country.

Previously in May this year, DarkMatter, a cyber security firm headquartered in UAE, and UAE-based telecommunications service provider du, announced a commercial partnership to offer enhanced cyber services to enterprises across the country. The commercial partnership, the first of its kind in the UAE, complements du’s suite of managed services for its enterprise customers that are demanding higher levels of security. Through the partnership, DarkMatter will provide its expertise to du’s extensive business customer

Fahad AlHassawi, Chief Commercial Officer, du said: “Security is a critical component that is already built into the DNA of our products. With the evolving landscape in cyber security, it has become even more important to safeguard the business interests of our customers. This futuristic partnership expands the horizons and offers our current and future business customers the combined expertise of du and DarkMatter in security and compliance solutions.”

Faisal Al Bannai, Founder and CEO of DarkMatter commented: “du has long-established itself as a future-focussed operator and has been quick to understand the cyber security risks arising in enterprise data environments. DarkMatter is working to raise the level of cyber resilience across sectors and through this partnership we will be able to provide an enhanced level of security and confidence to du’s enterprise customers in the UAE.”

Megha Kumar, IDC’s Research Director for the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey said, “Partnerships in the shape of the one just revealed by du and DarkMatter are critical given the challenges UAE-based organisations face when looking to source advanced cyber security skills. Indeed, IT decision makers in the country regularly cite skills shortages among their top security challenges, and customers will now be able to engage with du to enhance their resilience by leveraging DarkMatter’s cyber security advisory and assessment services.”
